And the sad thing is I had all his videos on vhs and now I have no clue where they are gone.

The first clip wasn't working for me (literally speaking). I enjoyed the second clip because I liked Akira's use of the triggered pads in aiding the groove.

Notice he is very much a linear in playing and composition. Everything, every note has it's place in time with not a lot of overlap and no unnecssary/non-supportive notes. The first clip seems 2000-2002 period when I first saw him. He performed that in is clinic.

master of 4-way yes... maybe moreso a Master of 4-way Musical Application. everything he does grooves. he is an inspiration for self-taught drummers whom study music as he did.

Do you guys know he started playing drums as an adult? He's older then he looks.

Ya, he started at the age of 18. I remember reading some article that quoted him as saying he used to practice for 18 hours a day?  ?/?
