I would suggest that you stick to the basics in your practice regimen. Go through a process begining with your warm-up. I always start my warm up routine with practicing double stroke rolls, then to single stroke rolls, to buzz rolls. Then I spend about twenty minutes just alternating between them. I start out very slow and pace myself and work up to the "beyond comfortable zone" and then back down and the cycle continues. I also highly suggest that you purchase a pair of 3B wood tip sticks and practice rolls starting with singles, then doubles, then parradidles, then doubles and so on until you begin making the progress, that will come.
