I'll have to go with a C-3. B-3s don't do much for me; it is like a "coffin on legs."

LOL
well I think that Because B3 and C3 are identical electronically
and the A100 is identical except for the addition of speakers in the body
Sound wise you wont tell much difference
According to Sebastian from sR whea organ company
the differences people hear are the leslie differences
and how well the organ was kept up
serial numbers play a part as well
I dont think people have a problem with b3's just any B3 that has weak busbars dirty contacts etc

THIS IS CORRECT. THE A100,B3, AND C3 ARE ALL MADE EXACTLLY THE SAME INTERNALLY. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT IN THE A100 IT HAS BUILT IN SPEAKERS IN THE BOTTOM. THE B3 DOESN'T HAVE THE CLOSED CABINET. (IT JUST HAS THE FOUR LEGS) AND THE C3 HAS THE CLOSED BOTTOM CABINET. SO IT IS OFFICAL TO SAY THAT THE ONLY DIFFERENT YOU HEAR IS IN THE LESLIES THAT ARE PROVIDED FOR EACH MODEL YOU'VE PLAYED.

PERSONALLY I PERFER A VINTAGE B3 OR C3 WITH A 122 LESLIE.

I'm young on the keys and even I know that the A100/B3/C3 is the way to go. Nothing wrong with a C2 tho'.

IF IT DOESN'T SAY HAMMOND, TAKE IT BACK TO THE STORE. PERIOD

IF YOU DON'T HAVE A LESLIE, GO GET ONE. PERIOD

IF IT'S NOT A HAMMOND AND YOU THINK IT SOUNDS GOOD, GO GET YOUR EARS CHECKED.

AND IF YOU REFUSE TO COMPLY YOUR ORGAN PASS WILL BE REVOKED. AND WE WILL ASK QUESTIONS LATER.

Seriously though.....Don't let nobody visit your church and see an Organ that says something other than HAMMOND.
I Love You!!!

Hm,

While I like the Hammond models: C3/B3/A-100 (whichever your preference as the insides are all the same.) I would have to go with the Rodgers Three or Four Pipe Simulator. It's something about gospel being played on a pipe that just does it for me! Tied with that is the Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe organ. I also like Allen as well. But there is nothing like the the Rodgers or the Wurl!

Don't forget the RT-2, C-2s and B-2s.  A range of the last RT-2s, C-2s and B-2s off the line (before RT-3/C-3/B-3 production was started) have the same tone generators as the B-3 and C-3.  The biggest difference is the lack of percussion, and that can be added aftermarket.

If you're in the market for an organ, a C-2 or B-2 can be less expensive than a -3 model but have the same sound.
