These are a brand new set of Cable Snares for a 13" Snare. They are custom made by Black Swamp Percussion. They are the wrap around type of snares that extend beyond the bearing edge for added projection. I had Eric Sooy at Black Swamp make these for me since they don't typically ake them for 13" snare drums. I had intended to use them on Calvin Rodgers snare but because of the lay out of Calvin's drum they were unable to produce the sound we were looking for. I tried them on another 13" Maple snare and the sounded great. These are wrap around snare which produce more tone because of the way they extend beyond the bearing edge. The snare set also has some coated cables and some raw cable for a combo deal....

Very Dry, focused, no nonesense kind of sound. I didn notice that they did not buzz as much as regular snares. They have a really nice slap to them. You hear a lot of the drumshell when using these Cable Snares! SO MUCH TONE!!!
Don't buy these if you're looking for a buzzy, sizzle.... you won't get it from these.
But if your looking to pull out much more tone from the actual drum and are looking for the slappy attack sound check these out.
I paid a little over $50 for these to be custom made and that's with my "builder" discount. I'll sell 'em for the price of a new set of Custom Puresounds.Which is what like $30?
