guitar from piano
« on: July 14, 2006, 11:20:30 PM »
Hi folks. I wanted to know if it were possible to get a guitar part from chords made for a piano you know like E/ A-B-C (just an example). If so how would you do that?
I won't take nothing for my journey now. No turnin' back, no turnin' back.

Vangelist,
Here's a few tips:
 - respect the bass line (you might have to simplify it)
 - it's hard to use the same inversion as the piano chord, you'll have to adapt
 - it's very hard to keep the melody at the top

In general, you'll have to simplify and adapt.

This method may not be good for a beginner. You would have to know chord construction and know what slash chords are.
I would get a chord dictionary for guitar. Then I would find out he chords in the song and then look them up. Do you know of any
guitar players near you?
