So I've read about 4 of the 8 pages and am too tired to read the rest. But I have two questions for you NJ Bishop:

1) You say that we should stick to what the Bible says...which translation are we sticking to? and which one is "most accurate" according to you and why?

2) What do we do if each person that started all "1300" of these denominations all earnestly sought the Lord and looked to scripture on all of their doctrines?  What do we do then? Its a scary thing, but how do we determine who's really hearing from the Lord?

Ok, I wanna apologize to all of you on this board.  Prophetic Remnant, you're right.  My previous post was neither encouraging nor edifying to the body and it just did not needed to be asked on top of all the other mess...

You've gotta excuse me--sometimes my flesh/intellect gets in the way of my serving the Lord wholeheartedly like I should.  I didn't think about what kind of effect it might have on new believers and those who are seeking. So once again, I just want to apologize.  NJBishop please ignore my first post on this thread. Hopefully we can go back to encouraging/uplifting each other and bringing folks into the kingdom because frankly believers have been arguing about this stuff for years and it really hasn't gotten us anywhere...as you can see  ;)

I don't know if it is funny or upsetting that a lot of people run around saying everyone else is wrong, and they are right.

Yes, there will be people going to hell. Sadly.

But denominational teachings won't be what sends them to hell. Sorry, because some people seem to think that they have that kind of authority, but they don't.

Those that are not written in The Lamb's Book of Life, they will sadly be lost.  :'(

Evidently, that's a Scripture someone forgot to include in the thread.

I'm trying to be calm. Really I am.

What sends people to hell? Refusing to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour; not repenting from their sins, acknowledging that they are sinners who cannot save themselves and not accepting His Redeeming and Atoning Blood for their sins and not following Him as Lord. That is what sends people to hell. Your doctrine isn't going to send anyone to hell . . . but it may confuse some who are here on earth, so let me set some things straight.

While Scripture is being argued, don't forget the Scripture that says that if you will confess Jesus Is Lord, and beleive in your heart that GOD has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.

I'm so glad that I'm not going to hell just because others want me to go. They want me to go because I haven't been baptised the way they think I should be baptized. I am saved, santified, baptized in the Holy Ghost and speak in other tongues . . . have been mininetring for years with Jesus confirming my call . . . but still, I need to be baptized again because I don't have "the fullness."

They want me to go because I can fellowship and worship with Pentacostals, Catholics, and Baptists while still knowing what I beleive and most of all in WHOM I have beleived. They want me to go because I am very educated . . . I mean very educated  . . . and they say education puffs up and makes me prideful.

But thank GOD that No One but JESUS has the keys to death, hell and the grave. So no one can send you to hell just becuase they think you should go.

Do you have denominational questions like the ones in this thread? Then go to your pastors and ask them. The job of the pastor is to watch for the souls of those they are over.

Just my two cents . . .

Now you sound like me! Nothing wrong with loving everyone and letting the Holy Spirit be their main teacher. If they have Christ they are a brother/ sister... I could care less about the things that divide us.

John 3:36: He who believes on the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

Ephesians 2:8-9: For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the traditions of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

These Oxtails sure are good! ;D


Oh and P.S., it would do everyone good to read the ENTIRE 2nd chapter of Colossians! :)

Reddgirl, next time my mama cooks them, I'm fixin' you and SJON a plate. You be trying to eat your own fingers off!!

She cooks them in brown gravy, and sometimes she cooks them with stewed tomatoes. I have also had them barbequed, and carribean style, and I've had oxtail soup. Either way, they are the BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!

May  I to ask what part of the cow do they come from? Are they like chitterlings? Need an education on oxtails.
