Prophecy:
I Corinthians 14:3 says: "But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort." The word "prophesieth" in the Greek is propheteuo (prof-ate-yoo'-o), which means to fortell events; to speak under inspiration, Not to preach.
A prophet or prophetess is a man or woman who speaks by inspiration (in prediction or simple discourse or conversation).
To preach means to proclaim, to declare (to state with emphasis or authority), or to herald.

What woman in the Bible ever preached? Better yet, name two or three women in the Bible that preached. Because "in the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established" (2Cor. 13:1). As a matter of fact, name one woman in the OT and one woman in the NT that preached. Both the OT and the NT compliment eachother, they don't contradict.
1. In the Book of Acts, chapter 18, Priscilla and Aquila are presented as faithful ministers for Christ. Priscilla's name is mentioned first, likely indicating that she was more "prominent" in ministry than her husband.
2. And 2 Cor. 13:1 (if you read it in it's context) refers to issues in the local church body.
But you are right about not fighting the Word. So let's make sure we really know it.
