To Begin, J.Miller: Congrats on being blessed with the opportunity to allow God to utilize your gifts in an area that you enjoy the most. CONGRATS
To My LGM Drum Family:
This topic has touched me in a special way. My passion, fire and desire for my craft has dwindled tremendously over the last three years. Though I still purchase DVD's and watch links on the forum from time to time (and at times may feel a volt of energy surfacing), it soon dwindles away.
God has blessed me with the opportunity to play and open for many prominent artist; however, due to the politics of the business (in which there will always be politics) Our way or no way, you opinion does not matter, "my favorite" - you are just another talented drummer, how are u going to tell me, well at this time we are unable, etc, etc, etc.
I remember the days of playing drums because i enjoyed the melodic sounds that each rack drum produced. Waking up on Sundays "couldn't wait" to play drums. As drummers we are all a little arrogant to a degree so having the women and crowd cheering you on was not to bad either.
Now, every time you pick up a stick "Lord, please don't let you have a little chops" you have 50 people that want to challenge or out shine you. Who cares that you may or may not have more speed, agility, creativeness and understanding of the craft better than others. if God is not getting the glory its all a waste.
I have enjoyed challenging and shuting down drummers in the past. However, I was young and ignorant to what my craft and spiritual gifts meant.
Pray for me LGM that God restores what the devil is attempting to steal.
Love u guys
Yours in Christ
