That's the same situation I dealt with... I'm a college student as well, It's like they want ME to be everywhere the choir and the pastor goes, they look at me kinda like the "music director", but the M.O.M. is a man in his late 40s... I was there playing by myself for years and then he joined the church... and it's not about the money, but, they wanted to take away from my income and give it to him
Don't get me wrong though-- our M.O.M. is one of the most humble guys I know and he gives that money that they take (and more!!!) back to me, puts me in charge of the music, and said that he is willing to step down if a problem were to arise....
He is not the problem... it is some of the people who esteem him higher than me....
Oh yeah, ask your pastor (or whoever appoints the M.O.M.) who is the M.O.M.
