Dude, you said a mouthful.
NOWHERE in the Bible is it found that a Pastor can make you feel guilty for missing a service, guilt you into doing work for them, dictate who you should marry, what you can eat, where you can go, how much offering you give, etc, etc.
I consider myself to be obedient. If my Bishop needs some work done I help. This past Saturday I was there from 2 to 5pm. The Saturday before that I was there from 4 to 9pm. I'm a good member. I pay my tithe EVERY week and give an offering. I play the drums, the Organ, I do the programs, I help put the songs on the Projector (because I know the songs before the Tech guy), etc.
But every once in a while I have to say "I'm going home". I'm a good member, but don't try to ABUSE me. After church on Sundays I'm going home. I work, I have a wife, I have a daughter, and the weekend is the only time we have together.
If the WORD doesn't extend your jurisdiction to my personal time (as long as I'm not committing a sin in that personal time) then don't take the liberty of trying to be my boss.
Just give me the Word. I don't need a Life Coach. I don't need someone to run my life and my free time. Just give me the Word!
Don't hold back, RJ. Tell us how you really feel, lol.
