getting Married soon Reception im torn

im a relatively young male 2 and im getting married in a few months. well majority people i know are around my age but was blood washed by jesus himself lol. so is my family. I dont want to have one of those mary mary kirkfrankln and shouting wedding. i believe i can play some old school randb love songs and house music i want to have fun. My sis got maried last year and she had praise dancers and altar cll at her reception at her reception are you mad.just want to hear ya thoughts. am i goin to far by waning to play some luther some freddi and some oldschool mike jackson

I personally wouldnt worry about it. If anybody is offended, then they can leave. Most of the lyrics in those kinda songs are pretty clean, so Unless your guest are super-duper holy, they shouldnt be offended.

And since you said you wanted to play House music, why not have the DJ play Gospel House?

It's your wedding so do what makes you happy.  I wouldn't hate on those who can't get with it, because they're entitled to their convictions just as you are yours. 

U13, your super-duper holy comment bugs me, because I get that a lot, just because I choose not to do certain stuff.  I don't put it on nobody else, I just choose not to, I don't think that should draw fire.

Your wedding should be a reflection of YOUR personal tastes (your= bride and groom).  If guests don't appreciate the way you choose to celebrate the vows you've just taken, they can leave.  And then when they have their weddings, they can do it however they want. See how simple that is? LOL  :D :D

I'm about to get married as well, and do trust and know that all kinds of music will be played.  I'm a very musical person, so it'll be 80's, 90's, and modern music, gospel and secular.  What music to play is the least of our concerns for the reception.....

and she's already found the perfect song for the bouquet toss (prize for anyone who can guess) ;) :D

It's your reception.  If you wanna shoot in the air, that's your perogative.  If you want stripper poles(J/K), it's your perogative.  If you want the first dance to be "Ryde or Die Chick," it's your peragoative.  Just have your wedding and reception with an open-door policy.  Unless somebody else if footing the bill, aint too much they can say.  And if they offer to help foot the bill, do so only with stipulations that you and your bride have full creative license with no outside interference.  Congrats, have fun, and don't get arrested.

It's funny you should mention getting married!  When I stumbled on the "Lazarus/Minnie" Thread, I was looking for any reference threads about your engagement.  CONGRATULATIONS!
