I still struggle wit hearing gospel progressions. They are so darn complex.

Thanks guys for the responses. :) I was actually looking for a guitarist version of this song. Sorry that I did not make myself clear. Im having trouble with standard progressions. For example, Never would have made it follows the 7-3-6-2-5-1-4 progression. Also, stevie wonder's song follows the 6-2-5-1 progression in G. My transition chords are not smooth. I imagine I might be using the wrong inversions of the chords. If possible, can someone list a simple 7-3--2-5-1 progression in "C"

OK so i am curious as to why you would even want to play those changes. I don't bother with following the keyboard player with chords. Too stressful when i can play fragments and lead lines.

Its not really about following the keyboard player in a band situation for me. Its about just playing progressions in general. I would hate to be a musician that can only play when another instrument is present.

not really....they are actually pretty repetitive, once you recognize the usual patterns you'll start to recognize them...

I suppose. But i am just getting used to hearing non-diatonic chords and notes which gospel makes heavy use of.

yeah, but that's what i'm saying...nce you get familiar with some of the stock gospel moves, the light will go on.
