Girl, please. Italian sausage is what I bought. Maple sausage indeed. :-\ :D ;)
no I bought the Bob evans ground sausage.
I think I would try a combo of the maple and a spicy sage sausage... and like SisterT, I love bacon, so I'll probably chop up some bacon as well.
Yes!  :D

And bacon too!

Can we add ground (free range) chicken & ground angus to this meat fest casserole?  ;D

On Monday morning, we should have full reports from everyone who tries this dish this coming weekend.   :D :D :D

So, I just got finished making this WONDERFUL dish.

My wife enjoyed it (which says a lot as she can be finicky at times).  ::) :D

Here's what it looked like completed:

And, here's a slice:

LL, I had no syrup so I'll give it a try next time (heck, I'll do just about anything, once.  :-\ :D)

BUT, (sounding like Darth Vader) I find your lack of taste in cheese MOST disturbing.  ;) :D

Overall, GREAT dish, Redd!!!  ;D

COSIGN!!

I made the casserole Saturday.  I used 1 lb. of maple-flavored sausage and about 7 slices of crisp bacon.

The boys and I agree the casserole is off da chain and the boys considered the recipe a "keeper"! :) :)

Thanks for sharing, Redd!

Gosh Jonathan, you make it sound so good.

I didn't get to make it this weekend. I went to sleep Saturday night earlier than planned so I had to cook Sunday morning. Had no time for breakfast. Plus, LL kinda threw me off with his description (a big pancake)...

Sis, I'm tryna tell ya, the dish. IS. bangin'.  8)

Plus, it's one of those dishes that can be a variation on a theme. Cheese, no cheese; add peppers/onions; use ANY kind of meat or no meat at all (my wife's idea); add spices if one desires. There are just SO many possibilities to this dish.

The next time I do it, I'm going to use mozzarella cheese.  ;)

The dish is DEFINITELY a winner!

For me, it was more eggy than 'pancakey'. AND, it reheats well, IMHO.  8)

I appreciate the compliment.  :)

Thank Sis T for the look of the casserole. From the conversation about its density, I made sure to use an 8x8 baking dish.

BTW, clean up WAS a breeze, too. ;)

I used a 9x9 glass baking dish which worked just as well.  I started to use something a little bigger, but then I kept thinking about what happened with SisterT  :-\

Picked up the ingredients last night, gonna try it today.  Wifey loves breakfast at all times of day so she should dig it.
