Somewhat blended but I'm sure it would have been better in a juicer.

I did my 3 day raw food and nut detox. My all the bloating went down in my stomach. I was dreaming up food terrible last night. :) I decided to end at 6pm today. I ate a wendys chilli, small caesar salad, and a sour cream and chive potato. I figured I'd keep it clean. I started feeling slightly bad after eating cooked food. Now I'm bloated and feel stuffed. lol This has taught me a valuable lesson. Time to get this weight off. They are right about cooked food. The detox also worked because I'm sweating and I stink. lol They say vegans don't. I will am going to mix up some fasting and eating smaller and healthier will little or no meat for a few months.

My goals have a lot of steps in them (for example, as a part of my PHYSICAL HEALTH, I'm trying to eat more veggies, drink more water, get more sleep, etc.), so I won't list them specifically, but generally, my goals are:

1. PHYSICAL: To improve my overall physical fitness and improve my eating habits.
I have not improved my overall physical fitness, but my eating habits have improved slightly. Although I still don't have at least one serving of veggies a day, I do make a conscious effort to eat them whenever they are on the menu and whenever I cook dinner at home. I still eat too much fast food, but nowhere near as much as I was eating when I first wrote this.  Also, I average about 5-7 bottles of water each week. That's not a lot, but it's 5-7 more than I averaged last year.  :)

I was really into my exercise routine, but I fell off. I may start up again soon. I just lack motivation. And I definitely get LESS sleep than I did this time last year. Gotta do better with that. I have no excuse to be up as late as I am.

2. FINANCIAL: To modify my budget and achieve a PERFECT credit score. (Yes, I want a perfect score).  :)
Budget? What budget? LOL! Nah, I'm kidding. I did modify my budget, and I've done a great job of sticking to it. I still need to work on the impulsive and compensatory shopping, but other than that, I'm cool. Still no perfect credit score, but I did improve my score this year.

3. SPIRITUAL: I have arrived... no goals necessary.  LOL, just kidding. I have a very healthy prayer life and I study a lot, but Nessa said something that got me to thinking. So my goal here is to designate a specific time period that is ONLY for the Lord - whether prayer, meditation, or study... not TV, not internet, not ministering, not at church... just me and Him alone. I also want to fast more than I do.
My prayer life has slacked a bit. I still pray a whole lot and I still study quite a bit, but instead of growing in this area, I've kinda fallen off a bit. I think it's because I slacked off on keeping my prayer journal. I did try the designated time thing and it didn't work. However, I definitely did more fasting this year than last year. I think overall, I've grown spiritually, conquered a few bad habits, recognized a few areas to work on... but I gotta get back to the Book and back to my journal.

Thusfar, I've had at least one bottle of water every day this week (I think??), and I'm about to open up a second today. I've also begun working out, and I'm down to 2 cups of coffee a day (down from 6-8).  Oh, and another accomplishment that wasn't listed is that I used to watch a LOT of TV... either watch it or have it on while I'm doing other things. I haven't watched TV at all in about 3 weeks (other than watching Project Runway and Army Wives online).

I have not had any water yet today, but I guess I'll grab a bottle now. LOL. I'm down to ONE cup of coffee a day. And I haven't watched TV all year.

Just thought I'd check in for the sake of accountability and to gauge my progress. It was kinda interesting to see where I was last year and compare it to where I am now.

My comments above, in blue.

Man, I was doing so well- lost 30 lbs., was starting to get into a routine of regular exercise, etc, etc.  Lately, over the past month or so, I've totally slacked off.  I've put on 8 lbs as a result.  >:(

Me too, I was working out good over the summer but just stopped and gained back the 30lbs I lost. I'm joining the gym at work after the new year, so I hopefully I will stick with it this time.

When you start that up, let me know.  We can hold each other accountable.  My accountability partners last go-round disappeared on me.

Y'know, this thread was also supposed to be a bit of an accountability tool. Not quite the same as having ONE PERSON... but in some ways, it might be better.  :-\

Will do. I'm starting the second week in Jan. My goal is an hour of cardio 3 days a week. I'll probably do weights as well.

Good stuff.  My desire is to do something daily.  I just haven't figured out what that "something" is going to be yet.  I'm definitely going to incorporate my home gym.  It helped greatly the last go-round.

What happened to the days when you would go play ball every week. I think that's what kept many guys in shape. What about going to the gym to show off.  :D Since I got saved all of that stopped. In church or at something church related. Haha This year will be a little different.

I've been working out again.  I can actually.....run.....again for more than 5 minutes without passing out.  I've dropped about 8 lbs too. :)

I've got my focus back!

I started long before this thread and lost 60 lbs....then promptly regained 20.   ::)

I started back recently and my diet is on point.

I tell myself:

"Food is not for pleasure.  Food is fuel to burn fat and keep my metabolism high.  Food is not for pleasure.  Food is fuel."

It's working.

I'm setting weekly weight-loss goals of 2 lbs and things are going well.

I just need help with being consistent. I'll get all motivated and energized... and after a few weeks, I'll lose my loopty-loo.

If I can just do better with the vegetables and drinking water, I'll be okay. I'm not even going to worry about the exercise for right now (because I walk about a mile a day, sometimes 2 - so that at least keeps me moving).

Trying to be healthy is very frustrating. But the bottom line is that I want long life. And I don't want to be like these people on my job who are in their 60s and 70s and move like they're 103, with 14 different ailments taking all kinds of prescriptions and stuff.... I don't want to be like that in my older days. *sigh*

Oh and congrats Daryl and RJ!!!! That's impressive!!! You guys, along with MM04 get the THTC Gold Pin!!! ;D

I posted this in the CS thread, but I've started drinking that Ensure stuff. I've been taking vitamins (when my mom shoves it in my mouth), and drinking water frequently. Exercising is my biggest issue. Which is weird because I used to do it all the time. That's only because I was obsessed with my stomach lol.

I drink water everyday now. While I'm at work, I drink water. As soon as I finish I go back and refill. I loves my water now. I take vitamins every morning also. They're called "Alive, Women's Energy" It's a Multivitamin and Multimineral. 26 Fruits and Vegetables plus Reservatol & Lutein(Don't know what those two are, just reading the box, lol)
It helps support:
Energy
Heart Health
Bones
Colon Health
Eyes
Immunity
Hair
Skin
Nails
and Breast Health

The vitamins are HUGE though.
I've cut back A LOT on Fast food. I fix my lunch for work and I have fell in love all over again with Shrimp Salads.
I also eat Strawberries and Banana yogurt when I want something sweet. So doggone good!
-19 lbs.
Not exercising as much as I would like to be.
