Raiders just released JaMarcus Russell.

I think if he works on a better team under a better owner he could really shine in the league. Maybe my opinion is dead crazy as well....lol!

I don't know about shining, but I think if he were in a system that didn't require him to make a lot of post-snap reads, like a west-coast type of offense, he may have more success than he's experienced.  Then again, I don't know.

Jury's still out concerning Tebow (although, I do believe he will earn a spot on said team :-\). *kanyeshrug*

Naw, the kid works too hard.  What he doesn't have skill-wise, he'll develop.  He has that kind of work-ethic.  We saw that pre-draft. Dude totally re-structured his throwing motion, shaving milliseconds off of his delivery time.  Doesn't sound like much, but that makes the difference between getting the ball off and having someone hit your arm in mid-delivery.  The kid is a winner.  I'm willing to bet he won't be a bust.  Of course, I guess it depends upon what you consider a bust, too.  If he stays in the league more than five years and even earns a #2 spot on a roster, I consider that a success (for him).

The QB position is the only position in the NFL where a first round pick winding up as a career back-up is considered a bust.

Dude, if I'm Tebow, being somebody's back-up after runnin' the show in Fla. would NOT be my idea of success.

And, I've got Jesus in me, too.  :-\ :D

To me, being able to maintain an NFL career (even as a back-up) when the naysayers said he wouldn't make it as a QB, would be a huge success. I understand where you're coming from, and that is the conventional line of reasoning.  But, I'm looking at it from a practical standpoint.  Bump all the hype about others' expectations.  Dude is very humble, and I guarantee that he'd rather play period, even as a back-up, than to not even be on a team in 5 years.

If you're a back-up, are you playing?  :D

I mean, I understand what you're saying. At the same time, unless he's a starter, we naysayers will have been proven correct, imho. ;D
