Which is probably why black dudes, probably, don't get people coming up to them telling them to smile. Lol. While I tend to agree with you, black women who are seen as angry are also seen as threats, ESPECIALLY if she gets loud. It's to the point where people expect for her to take off her earrings and break out the vasline. People expect the "super ghetto" to pop out of a black women when she's angry, or perceived as such. People think black people in general are a threat and are dangerous. I believe that while the stereotypes are different they create a similar result without breaking gender roles. Ex: Women are expected to be docile and friendly. Black women tend to be seen as sassy and unfriendly. Men are expected to be level headed and professional. Black men tend to be seen as irrational and excitable. Both of these things hinder both black men and women as they try to move forward in life.
I
mostly somewhat agree, but it goes deeper than that for black men. When we start getting into the way men think and our egos we will see that many white executives will see a black man as competition. Not just competition for climbing the corporate ladder, being successful and having material wealth, but also as sexual competition. I've seen it firsthand at my job and we even see it on TV. There's an episode of "The Office" where Idris Elba visits the office and the ladies literally go crazy over him. The same thing happens in real life and it drives white men crazy as they want that sexual attention for themselves.
So in that regard women are not a threat. That's why they get hired with no problem while black men, even qualified ones, often have a hard time getting corporate jobs, especially as managers.
And men have to smile just as much as the women. There was even a study that claimed that black men have have a "baby face" in order to be accepted into management positions. And any woman, even the ghetto ones can get a corporate job. When have we ever seen a ghetto brother working in some type of office or CS position? Most of us have to be nearly gay in order to not be seen as a threat.
As for black women getting loud in the workplace, 90% of them
who are the loud type, act totally different when around white people at work. Watch "The Help" if you don't know what I mean.

I agree with you on the gender roles statements, I just think that with men, the problem is bigger than stereotypes
