I have two things that I really need help with

1. What are some new cds that you would recommend? I am about to update my cd collection and I am lost...

2. There is a Korg Trinity Pro-76 key keyboard that is being sold for only $249.00 on ebay. The guy has an excellent track record as far as his products are concerned. Would you purchase this keyboard? I have wanted a keyboard like this for a long, long time and I am torn...please help

Some CDs:

-Jonathan Nelson and Purpose: Right Now Praise
-Kirk Franklin: Fight of my Life
-James Fortune and Fiya: The Transformation
-Angela Spivey and VOV: Live
-Marvin Sapp: Thirsty
-Ricky Dillard and New G: 7th Episode

Youthful Praise Live in Baltimore (I can't speak on the instrumental part, but the overall CD is very nice)

James Hall and the Voices of Citadel (not new, but still a must-have, hot music)

Noel Jones and City of Refuge (not new anymore, but still a must-have, hot music)

Oh, and as for the keyboard, yeah, I'd buy it.  I never hesitate to buy stuff from folks on Ebay who have a good rating and impressive feedback.

Okay, I hate to have to tell you this, but the $250 isn't the BIN price (buy it now), that's just the current bid.  And it still has 6 more days at auction... so, it's pretty unlikely you'll get it for that price (unless that's an average price for that keyboard... and I don't know a darn thing about keyboards so I don't know what that's worth.  But, if $250 seems like an amazing deal, chances are, in 6 days, the current bid will be way higher than $250.  :-\

The Keyboard looks good and all, but considering that the $249.00 is the starting bid with 6 days of bidding left, I can't help but think it's going to turn out a little more expensive. If you're looking for something instantaneous, I'd suggest using the "Buy It Now" option. With that, you're guaranteed to win at a set price.

Also, try Craiglist.

+1 craigslist is the best. just be careful of scams, pay in cash and have your husband with you when you pick stuff up, just to be safe.

Also make sure that you play the board before you buy it, to make sure it fits you. Thats something you cant do with ebay. If you want weighted keys you might want look into the Korg triton 88 pro-x, (though I didnt like the feel of them, they are still wieghted) also the older korgs dont seem to have any good grand piano sounds. take that into consideration. If I were to buy a korg, it would be purely as a 2nd board, for other sounds and not piano.

God bless you in your search

I actually bought through them before but it never occurred to me to look for a keyboard there. I have decided to go with the Yamaha S90ES...second hand that is. Hopefully I'll find the right deal, especially now that I have gotten the help of my fellow LGmers. Thanks a million to alla yall. ;)

Maybe in one aspect, but if he said Craigslist is best, then he doesnt account for the lack of a community collectively trying to build great reputations as sellers and buyers as is commonplace on Ebay. With recourse, I might add.

Ok may I ask you something, I went to craigslist but they don't have what I'm looking for. I saw the Yamaha S08 again which is my price range but it doesn't have sliders. Is there a such thing as buying a controller with sliders to hook to that particular keyboard?

Yeah there are some wierdos there. If I'm selling something small, I never meet them at my house, but when I sold my piano I had no choice.

A few months ago there was somebody selling a Porsche on craigslist, so a couple drives to go buy it, They bring a ton of cash with them and when they get get to the guys house, they were robed at gun point. I say that to say you gota becareful.

I see your point, but I'd rather just make an offer for a quick sale, no worries about being scammed, shipping etc. And you can check out whatever you are buying, before you pay. and there are some great deals on there.

But there is a downsie, sometimes you gotta play "email tag" and thats annoying, and sometimes you have no shows, but all of my craiglist transactions have been cool

As for the keyboard, if you can get it at a bargain price, then go for it, but just because he/she says it works doesn't mean it does.  Usually a bidding war starts in the last few hours on the product.  I one missed winning a Lakland bass by $20 in a bidding war.  I was livid.  Wait until the last day during the last couple of hours to bid. You may come out better that way.  If you have an eBay account, track it with thw "watch this item" feature to keep up with the price. Just know that you may have to battle some of these quiet LGM folks now.  Good luck if you do bid.  Another thing you can do is check out the pawn shops in town.  You can find some stuff that the pawn have no idea about and get it for crackhead prices.  I once bought a $900 sequencing keyboard with a case for $200 at a pawn shop because the guy didn't know what he had.

Also, be very careful if you do win.  if the seller tries to bypass PayPal to receive payment, then it's a scam.  You wil not be protected without using PayPal.
When you've done your very best, do even better.

Congrats on the new board sis!  I think it was a good move.  I kinda made the mistake of buying a used piece that seemed great back in the day.  I really wanted a Korg 01W way back then.  When I saw a rack version for a couple hundred bucks, I jumped at it.  It turned out not to be nearly as great as how I remembered.
