...on a side note...I know of at least four people that had sex in church. They just didn't get caught.

Dang, that newspaper is kinda gangsta for showing their picture! LOL!

(Nice looking couple, btw).

I can't help but wonder if they are members of this church, or if they just did it in a random church.  I can't imagine the pastor would turn them in if they were members... but who just goes into a random church that you're not even a member of and... well... nevermind.  :-\

Yeah, it was their church.  The headline subtitle said it was "their local church".  I can't imagine showing my face in that church after that.  Folks would be looking at you and either slying grinning at you as if to say, "Yeah, y'all go 'head!!"  ;) or looking at you in total disgust for desecrating their altar.  >:(  But doesn't the word say "...the marriage bed is undefiled" (no matter where that marriage bed happens to be)??  :-\

It does indeed. Plus, there wasn't any sin committed, since they're married. Intriguing. I'll let you guys try it out though. ;D

You know, at first, I thought to myself the same thing.

But, I think the sin may have been in the fact that the sanctuary and altar are supposed to be sacred and holy, used for worship to God.  I guess one might argue that marital sex worships God, but that would be quite a stretch, IMO.  If you don't buy that, you can surely agree that the sin was in the fact that they snuck into the church (whether it's theirs or not... and I'm still not certain it's their church, so it may have been trespassing as well) and offended the pastor.  They knew they were wrong and did it anyway.

And btw, I always hear people using Hebrews 13:4 (marriage bed is undefiled) in that context, but that's not what it means.  :-\

Hebrews 13:4 doesn't mean "anything goes between a husband and wife;" it's an instruction for married people to keep their sexual relations undefiled (honorable, sacred) and to guard their sexual relations against things that aren't pleasing to God (like adultery, sexual abuse, etc.).  Another way to look at it is: Let marriage be held in high honor and accordingly, let the marriage bed be held in high honor.

the only difference between them and Americans, is the Americans probably werent caught yet. Theres lots of unsavory activity going on in churches, probably around the world

I remember a major recording artist saying that they used to fool around in the choir stand--while service was going on. I've heard of pastors trying to pick up people (of the same sex) in their church van.
