Those shoes LOOK like girl shoes (the pink ones).
But for real, some of us "manly bruthas" have got to start being examples to these young boys. Single parent homes are on the rise. Even in "double-parent" homes, things happen. Children watch. They see things.
In 2nd grade, I delivered a speech in front of Congressman Harold Ford, Sr. at Winchester Elementary School. I remember being VERY articulate. I still have the letter he wrote back to the school afterwards...I'll never lose it.
But the boys who made F's in English...couldn't talk in a complete sentence to save their lives...and so forth...were saying (on the day of the event) "look at that f*g!"
I had no idea what the word sex was, nor was there a desire to have it at that age. In those days, if a girl started to "develop" and we noticed, we had all the thrill we need.
We have to be protective of these little guys (and the grown ones too).
Believe it or not (and I KNOW this to be true about some folks I know), some gay guys become friends with straight guys to LEARN to be more "manly" and do more "manly" things. Daddy didn't teach it...maybe new friend will. But when the new friend (not "love interest") shuns them away for not being equally as manly, the example is gone and then what?
And who decides exactly what is "manly"? Some people who cut grass and work on cars are.....
